Welcome to Pit Road Rescue!
While we were out , our semi feral cat, George, adopted a kitten. We found them laying in the flower bed. George grooms her, let's her eat out of his bowl and protects her from Fluffy. So random..... ... See MoreSee Less
So precious! 🥰💖 Makes me remember our male Pepper who allowed Tye Dye as a kitten to actually "nurse" on him! He was neutered...but still... it was sweet!
That is sooo awesome! We need more "random" good stuff like this in the world. It really is what matters the most....at least to me. We all should take a lesson from George! Thank you!!!
I have seen feral toms do this before. My mom, in Hampton VA, had an older tom like this once. Adopted a queen and her kits!! Brought them to mom's house. Played with the kits. Just a couple things...of course TNR, so they don't reproduce. And, we found that any male kittens would be chased off (sometimes viciously) by the tom as the male kittens grew and matured. My sister adopted the male mitten my mom's tom eventually fought--he was beat up bad. Doesn't make sense to us, but it can happen.
She OR He is SO cute.Is the kitty for adoption.
Atta boy George ! So wonderful!
Sweet as can be 🐯💕🐯🐾

Gotta love the pibbles !!!!
You are more than welcome!
Limerick here wishing all of you Pup Moms a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Just checking in to let you know that I'm still looking for my perfect mom (or dad) to spend the rest of my days with!
I was adopted once and stayed with my family for over a year. Unfortunately, when the wee one started to grow up more, I got a bit anxious and didn't feel as comfortable anymore.
For this reason, I'm requesting to go to a home with older children. I really love other dogs, though, and I don't mind cats either... so a home with another animal companion is 'A Okay' with me!
I'm okay with being crated if it's necessary... but I currently spend my days lounging in bed with my foster sisters when my foster mom is at work... because... I'M THE BEST BOY!
I won't have any accidents... and I won't tear up your stuff. Promise! Really!
I'm about 4-years-old in human years and am at that PERFECT age! Want to go for a hike? Want to sleep on the couch and watch Netflix? I'm your guy!
Share me with your friends and send us a PM if you want to be my "Happily Ever After". My secretary will gladly respond with any questions you have! ... See MoreSee Less

I really hate to ask this but with all of our adoption/fund raising events cancelled or postponed, we are about out of dog food. We still have an outstanding bill at the AEC for our dog who was envenomated by either a snake or a spider. His picture is below (Spirit). I know times are tough for everyone but even a $5 donation would help. Most things on our Amazon list are out of stock but Walmart still has our Purina Dog Chow (beef) or Purina one chicken and rice. Our PayPal is email@example.com. As always thank you! We couldn't do this without you 🐾 ... See MoreSee Less

She is so cute@
Please allow us to introduce Bronwyn! She is the cutest 8 ( or 12?) week old puppy rescued after being abandoned in NC with mom and sisters. The rescuer kept mom and the sisters went to different rescues.
We know momma was a pittie and daddy was a drifter. She will be up for adoption soon. You can find an application at pitroadrescue.org. ... See MoreSee Less
That bath put her to sleep! 🙂
She is a doll
Oh sweet baby
Limerick is once again available for adoption. He was adopted back in October of 2018 and came back into the rescue in the last month.
Unfortunately Limerick started having some issues with the 3-year-old in the house, and his adopter (as well as Pit Road) decided it would be best for the family and Limerick to be taken out of the situation. This was not a light-hearted decision for the family, but everyone wanted to do what was best for them and best for Limerick.
Per his previous adopter, Limmy was amazing in the home. He is 100% house-trained and was never crated. He was never destructive in the house. He does well with cats and other dogs, too.
Limerick would do well in a house with or without other pets, though he does enjoy the company of other dogs! He has lived in both apartment settings where he was leash walked several times a day and has also lived in a setting with a fenced in backyard. He would thrive in either. He IS crate trained but much prefers being left loose. Like I said, he never has accidents and is never destructive.
At this point, his only downfall is that he needs to he placed in a home without young children. Older children in the household should be fine. The hustle and bustle of young kids was just too much for him.
Limmy is roughly 3-years-old, good with dogs and cats, house trained, non destructive, HW negative, and up to date on vaccines and prevention. We have him listed as a Pointer Mix... and he's about 45 to 50 pounds. If you are interested in being Limmy's forever family, please shoot us a PM, and we can get started on the adoption process! <3 ... See MoreSee Less
